The Force Behind It All

I would be remiss if I did not share with you all an underlying current in Jace's life.  And now in perpetuity, our family's.  Where do I even begin?  Jace will forever tell stores of receiving his first Star Wars toys as a boy and how much he loved them.  Getting to go see Empire Strikes Back when it released in theatres when he was 10.  Reading the Star Wars books and stories all throughout his youth.  When Jace and I were married, one of the first things he "rectified" was the ignorance I carried with me.  How I had never even HEARD of Star Wars before marrying him...the utter disbelief. He found a 3 pack VHS set of The Star Wars Trilogy and brought it home for us.  To which he then had to go purchase a TV and a VHS player, which made him late to our wedding reception.  But that is a story for a much later time.  Let the record show, however, the importance of priority those ranked in his mind. Yet another key to the mind that is my husband's.  He opened up a world I had never known but one that I very happily became a part of.  It was GREAT!  I absolutely loved Star Wars from the moment the opening soundtrack hit my ear.  Over the years I have let them settle into our family deep because of the theatrical classics that they are.  But also because they are good.  My favorite reason though, is because Jace truly loves them.  From his inner boy, to his full grown man, to the grandfather he now is.  Star Wars is allowed to be interwoven into the fabric of our family freely.

With this back story it is much more understandable as to why, when he wanted to introduce our children to the world of online gaming, this was the perfect avenue.  It was familiar to all of us, it was something we shared as an entire family unit, and it left no one out of the game.

Through the years, we have created incredible memories around Star Wars.  We would help the kids get all dressed up for every movie premier.  We would build it up for them and their friends...and in turn for Jace.  They were a part of everything.  From the excitement and competition of getting tickets online before they sold out, to standing in line for hours outside of theatres to ensure good seats.  To later knowing the Christmas event would be centered around Star Wars tickets and a night out as a family.
