Loving A Gamer 101 - The Chair...First and Foremost

First thing's first.  You're going to need a GOOD CHAIR!  Just go get one now.  Your sensible brain will tell you you have a fine one sitting out in the garage or the back yard.  But you do not.  This chair will be your life and it's worth getting the right one.  I take my chair everywhere with me.  Every SINGLE time I get comments from the gamers, event planners, other spectators...on how genius it is.  AND IT IS!  It came out of necessity because these are all day events for multiple days and although THEY are standing and moving around, YOU are not.  You need to start paying attention to creature comforts and make a plan.

This is unlike any sport you have ever witnessed.

When I think of what it is we do, as supportive gaming partners, the closest thing I can compare it to is sporting events.  If you've had a child in a sport, or just been on the sidelines for any period of time, you've learned the "tricks of the trade".  You would never leave home without the necessities.

There are plenty of sites online that list off all of the necessities.  This is not unlike it...but things you would NEVER think of.  UNLESS you have been there! It takes practice, learning from mistakes, getting creative, and seeing what others are doing to make this work. You may not feel like it's going to be a necessity but the hours keep going and the time goes so much faster when you have those things you love and keep you going...and them.

So...go buy the chair.

This is the one I recommend.  It's so great!  You don't want anything too big and clunky because YOU will be the one hauling it in and out and having to move it and maneuver it around gaming tables.  There's not always a lot of room on the sidelines so you need to be able to adapt.  It's got great carrying handles and the rocker system makes it ideal for long hours of comfort.

Every gaming hall I have attended consists of folding tables and chairs.  If you're lucky and someone has connections, you might stumble upon the coveted random office chair or better yet, a padded doctor's office chair. But more times than not, it's a folding chair.

This chair becomes the hub, homebase, and the basic foundation for a good infrastructure.  Seriously...go buy the chair
